Neon Genesis Evangelion is a good series. honestly it's super hyped and does have a few more flaws that most like to admit.
It is however well worth watching. here's a link to watch it free online if you like.. there are tons of them and veoh.com is ur best bet(just make sure when you find and start your episode that your watching it the tv mode.. otherwise they usually only allow about 5mins of it to play.. ask me if you have trouble) so the link i got for nge is http://www.zomganime.com/neon-genesis-evangelion.html - under the episodes folder

the best... thats impossible, it depends on ur style yea. very entertaining ones, my favs, are prolly ranma1/2(good but older romantic comedy), claymore, ghost hunt, death note, naruto & shippuden , bleach, one piece, all the miyazaki movies (like spirited away, princess mononoke).. thats a lil start there on Great ones imo. if theres any i listed you haven't checked out, atleast try them! also try crunchyroll.com for episodes (though they do get taken off somewhat often because of licensing.

well i meant grew up on in a different sense.. cuz the ones on tv from childhood were of course robotech and unico and stuff..

nice start, but ur talkin to a collector.. i have those you mentioned and.... about 50 other complete series razz ^_^

you ever seen ranma1/2? it's an oldie but prolly my favorite overall anime (mostly cuz i grew up on it ;my first series)
