Turns out journal posts are listed with links so I'll just use this space to dump my self-reminder about free daily grants. I can use it on lazy days when I'd like to click the least amount of links. It's too much of a hassle to organize these in bookmarks, and maybe the merchant commenting to thank me on my profile will find some use for it.

The "you" I'm referring to in this post is me from the future, but I suppose you can take it to refer to the person reading this if the statement applies to you.

Daily Treat
These are different from the Daily Candy capsule machine that appears in the corner of every major hub once per day. I'm specifying because I often call the capsule machines the "daily treat", and I don't want to confuse myself if I fall off the face of the earth for three years and come back to this post (which has happened before).

Daily Platinum Grants
Just in case I leave for eight months and forget: you can get free platinum all over Gaia by participating in various activities.

*You can receive freebies in zOMG from specific NPCs (marked on the map with a pair of dice) once daily. There's one in every major zone and they give you a lot of platinum. By the time you're done talking to all of them, you'll have accumulated around 19,000 platinum.

*Remember that the candies on the Bulletin Board cash shop announcement banners are grants: You get 1 platinum and occasionally 1 gaiacash for clicking the announcement, scrolling to the bottom of the pop-up, and selecting the option to claim the reward.

*You get platinum the first time you vote on a Runway entry every day, and there's a 7-day long daily reward punch-card for consecutive votes, too (similar to the daily login reward).

*You also get platinum for commenting on people's profiles and voting in polls on the forums. You also get a sum of platinum for replying to forum threads and writing journal entries. You get the most bang for your buck for the very first comment and vote you do on a given day: there's a cooldown that gives you less platinum the more you vote/comment every day, presumably to prevent bots from spamming people's comments for easy platinum. Gaia likes to reward users for participating in the community in this way.
