About
I am LuvByrd, so called for the little yellow one that I have and am very fond of. I like animals, especially birds and whales, and like listening to music. I work in a dog grooming salon, and volunteer at a zoo. Chocolate is a foodgroup and books are great. A good clean joke is rare but great, and laughter is a medicine. Dance - cause you can get close to people, have tons of fun, and be beautiful. Take pictures and remember everything. Be understanding, but have strong morals.

The book sounds nice but I wouldn't be able to use it, as I don't have any parrots. xD Just my finchies and me- the way I like it, to be honest, as no one ever sticks up for non-psittacine birds.
Curious- what made you choose a lovebird as your pet bird? Is there really no absolute way to sex lovebirds other than DNA testing? I always found that sort of disappointing about them.
I am fourteen years old and have been owning birds since April of this year. I've been obsessed with birds for a long time (the earliest I can remember is in fifth grade?), but it'd always been concerned with wild birds. I had been wanting to get involved in aviculture and own a bird of my own for months, but it wasn't until Easter when I got my own birds- two normal male Zebra finches, Meep and Squeak (still have them).
I currently have six birds now, all Zebra finches. I have four males (two are normal, two are CFW), and two females (one normal, one fawn). I'm into finches, rather than parrots, though I know a lot about parrots as well. Though I'm lacking in personal experience, having owned birds less than a year, I know a lot about them. Do a lot of research- my online time is pretty much dedicated into researching birds, both wild and captive.
If you want, I can send you pictures of my colony. For an early Christmas present I built a huge cage for Cheep and Squeak out of PVC- I still like showing it off, heh. It looks like a rainforest almost- all natural branches (only a little plastic swing, in which my dad made me put in) and plenty of fake plants. Eventually I'd like to put in some real plants once my houseplant colony is built up (my other hobby, rather new, is houseplants).
