Don't get involved with someone unless you can take and share responsibility.
Rules:
1. Don't say you're not 'good enough'. Let your companion do that. Saying you are not good enough implies a sort of sorry excuse for why you don't want them hanging around you. If you really want a shot at getting on with someone, allow them to decide for themselves if they want you or not. Don't automatically write yourself off.
2. Don't start what you can't finish. Getting into the game then dropping out because you don't want to try is pathetic; how would you feel if you were trying to pull through something tough because you want to make it work only to have your other half, so to speak, suddenly abandon you because they don't want it to work?
3. Don't be so hard on yourself; we all have our dark sides and tough times. We all have our not-so-attractive moments and we all can shine just as bright as anyone else. But if you lose faith in yourself, then so will those around you.
I'm so sick of hearing these people say, "I'm not good enough for you".
What are you talking about? Since when do you get to decide what I deserve?
If you want it, then let's make it work.
Otherwise, don't even spare a glance down that road, because whether or not you like it, this is an all-or-nothing matter.
