the square root of the reciprical of two would be the square root of 1/2.
1/2*1/2 would be 1/4 so the square root of 1/4 would be 1/2
working backwords would be more difficult
you would have to take the imaginary coefficient of i squared (which is +1 b/c i*i= 1) and add that to the quadratic standard equation of a hyperbola.
the standard of a hyperbola would be [(x-h)/a^2] - [(y-k)/b^2] = 1
so then just plug in the missing variables and wha- lah! you have the square root of the reciprical of 2.
