Personality: Shinn is a very unique character in GSD. He is caring to his friends, but he can be angry to almost anyone. He has an ego and gloats around sometimes. Shinn tries his best to be the best.
Past: Shinn Asuka lived in ORB with his family. He didn't pay attention about the outside world, only worrying about his life. When the Battle of ORB took place, all the residents of ORB that was near military facilities were to evacuate. That included the Asuka family which a tragic accident happened. Mayu dropped her cellphone while they were running to the harbor where the escape boats were. She was making a fuss and wanted to go get it, so Shinn ran to where the phone was. Then an explosion took Shinn's family's life and he survived. Later, he joined ZAFT, hoping to have the power to protect the ones he cares about.
Present: Shinn is one of the mobile suit pilots in the battleship, Minerva. He is becoming an incredible pilot and is called, "Super Ace." He seemed to defeat almost any enemy except one, Freedom. With the help of Rey, he was able to defeat it. After this achievement, he got the new mobile suit, Destiny. Finding out Athrun "betrayed" ZAFT, he had "killed" Athrun's GOUF. Another achievement was his part on taking down Heaven's Base. He was rewarded and was promoted to FAITH.

She can be very dazed when she is not in battle especially when she looks out at the ocean, or any other large body of water(Phase-15). Since she had been mentally tampered with, she has a great fear of death. Her block word is "die". Whenever she hears or says that word. She goes into a mental trauma and constantly talks to herself about how much she is afraid of dying. She goes completely berzerk and becomes unpredictable and sometimes becomes exceptionally agressive. Stellar has a very dynamic personality and one moment when you think she acts normal, she can become crazy and lose her mind. This can been see through the time when Shinn brought Stellar to the first aid wing of the Minerva(Phase-26). The flaws in her personality are directly related to the Earth Alliance tampering with her. However, she also is capable of showing love, such as when she was saved by Shinn Asuka from the water and she presented her a stone( Phase-18 ). Without the tampering of the mind, she can act normal. Though she may seem quiet at times, she becomes a psycopathic killer in battle and anyone who gets in her way is removed out of the picture by her. Because of this, her data was selected to be most fitting to become a pilot of the Destroy Gundam.

When Athrun is around “Lacus” (Mia) she expresses feelings of jealousy and when jealous, she can be very stubborn. Even though she may sometimes be jealous, she is usually kind and supports Athrun.

Biography

with the ZGMF-X42S Destiny), and was
stationed aboard the battleship Minerva.

~The first Battle of Orb~
The first scene of the Gundam Seed
Destiny shows Shinn and his family
running to reach Orb's seaport to evacuate
during the EA invasion. When Mayu
drops her cell phone, Shinn tries to retrieve
it for her. His parents try to stop him by
holding his arm, but he pulls away and
retrieves the cell phone. While doing so,
an explosion caused by the battle between
Freedom and the EA Gundams occurs
and the force knocks Shinn off his feet.
When he gets up, he sees the mutilated
corpses of Mayu and his parents. Unable
to believe that he did not die with them,
Shinn breaks down, and he cries inconsolably
until he is found by Colonel Todaka.
~Battles fought~
During the Armory One Incident, Shinn
fights against the three stolen Gundams
and later becomes part of the team who
fights against the terrorists of the Junius
Seven Colony Drop on Earth (also known
as "Break the World"). Down on Earth
he fought many battles against the Earth
Alliance. When Orb joins the battle on
side of the EA, he shows no mercy against
them either, and destroys nearly the
entire Orb fleet.
~Hatred~
Since the death of his family, Shinn
has a deep hatred against Orb, especially
against Uzumi Nara Athha and his daughter
Cagalli Yula Athha. He blames the ideals
of the country for the death of his family
and shows this readily when in Cagalli's
presence. Also, Shinn often behaves with
a critical and aloof attitude, even against
his captain, and is sometimes prone to
emotional outbursts. Throughout the series,
his actions show that he has problems
managing his anger and his attitude constantly
reflects his belief that he must follow his own
sense of right and wrong no matter the
consequences. Because of this, he often acts
without considering the consequences and
even when tragedy occurs, he will not give
up his own stance. The only people he seems
to respect are the other MS pilots of the
Minerva, Lunamaria Hawke and Rey Za Burrel,
the Chairman of PLANT, Gilbert Durandal,
as well as the Extended pilot of ZAFT's ZGMF-X88S
Gaia, and later the Earth Alliance's GFAS-X1 Destroy,
Stellar Loussier. He has a strong sense of
justice, believing that the power he is given
allows him to act without hindrance toward
protecting those whom he cares for, and to
do what he considers right. In the naval battle
near the island of Crete, Shinn destroyed the
attacking Earth Alliance/Orb fleet, and in the
climax of that battle, the Orb fleet's flagship
the Takemikazuchi was sliced apart, and
unknown to Shinn, he killed his mentor
Colonel Todaka by doing so.

~Relationships~
Shinn & Stellar
Shinn first met Stellar back in the PLANT's when they bumped to each other and he grabbed her breasts. Then they met again at Diocuia. Stellar was dancing on the cliff but fell into the ocean. Shinn saw her disappear and looked down to see her trying to swim. So he jumped in to save her, but he didn't have an easy time doing so! They managed to swim to a cave below the cliff. There Shinn made a statement: Did you want to die you idiot? and caused Stellar to become afraid and tried to run off in the water. Shinn calmed her down by telling her that she won't die and he'd protect her. Using an emergency call, Athrun and other crew members from the Minerva went to go rescue them. While that was going on, Shinn noticed a wound on Stellar's leg and wrapped it with a handkerchief. When they were inside, having a fire and drying their clothes, Stellar gave Shinn a shell.
They meet once again at Lodonia, but Stellar was in the Gaia and Athrun and him thought she was sent out to destroy the lab at Lodonia. Athrun and Shinn attacked Gaia and it was defeated when the Impulse slashed the cockpit. Shinn saw that the pilot was Stellar! She was bleeding from her head wound so he took her and flew back to the Minerva to get her treated. In the infirmary, she went crazy and attacked the nurse. She was able to calm down with Shinn holding her and went unconsious. When she woke up and sees Shinn, she doesn't remember him. Stellar then tries to get out of her strapped stretchbed, which caused the doctor to put her to sleep again. When she awoke again with Shinn in the room, she remembered him!
Few days passed and Stellar's condition becomes worse. It seems she is likely to die. Shinn, overhearing how Stellar was going to be used as a guinea pig for ZAFT to learn about the Extended, decided to return Stellar to Neo. With the help of Rey, he got Stellar out and flew to where Neo was with Gaia's identification code. Shinn told Neo where to meet him and there he gave back Stellar after he made Neo promised to "return her to a warm and gentle world, far away from deadly things like war and mobile suits." Before leaving, he gave back the shell to Stellar told her not to forget about him.
The last time they meet together was in the battlefield at Berlin. Stellar was to pilot the new mobile suit, Destroy, who was annihilating everything. Shinn tried to defeat the thing with Freedom, but he found out the one piloting it was Stellar. He stopped the Freedom from attacking her then went to calm Stellar down. It stopped her from attacking, but when she saw the Freedom, she went crazy and attacked, which caused the Freedom to destroy it. Stellar died from the wound caused by the explosion in Shinn arms. He went to a nearby lake and dropped her into it.

This is a unique Gundam since it has a transformal body. The main controls is the Core Splendor which like a fighter plane. Next it'll connect the legs, and chest flyer, then one of the Silhouette packs. It's like the Strike, which has different packs of combat. Anyways, Impulse has the Force, Sword, and Blast Silhouette. It also can be recharged with a beam from the Minerva. Shinn was also able to defeat the Freedom with this machine.
~ZGMF-X42S Destiny~
One of the new mobile suits that was made for Shinn. The data was collected from most of his previous battles. It has the latest technology like the energy generator shield and an attack with one of his hands. (Similar to the Burning/Shining Finger of G Gundam) Destiny has butterfly like wings from the particals. It moves very fast as you can see it blurs around.
