"She doesn't want to see me take my own life, or have someone do that for me. She'd prefer to have me live out the remainder of my days, not constantly having death on my mind. So far, I've done a pretty awful job of that. She's probably furious with me."

Edward sighed, figuring he might as well let the young man know the actual reason for why he was such a wreck. "Well, a few months ago I was going to be married to a beautiful, young lady named Annabell, but she was sort of... killed on our wedding day. My butler was the cause of her untimely death. And well... I haven't been quite right since. I swear she'd been haunting me ever since. I couldn't stand the pain of being away from her, so I tried ending it all. I wasn't successful with that attempt, and that's why I'm now here. Oh, but I do apologize for just um... bringing you down with my troubles."
