I don't think the status feature is stupid. It's all how a person uses it really. Besides people don't even read journals anymore so the status pretty much have replaced that feature. I use mine's to tell everyone what's going on in my life. Other people use it so they can get a ton of comments, gold, advice or stuff like that. Food for thought.
