this is a poam i think matches me and is not writen by me

[Someone told me in an argument that when being outgoing people expect a lot more and it's a lot harder; I think being shy is just as hard. My level of shyness is so high that people trample all over me, I rarely have a say in what I do, and I'm not able to speak my mind. I don't think I've ever had a friend who's fully accepted me and actually cared. I'm really tired of being like this, but it's who I am. People rely on me to always be their shoulder to cry on, never complain, always listen and have good advice, but I also need someone who I can turn to and I don't have to force it upon them. I like helping people, making them happy because I care for people. Whenever I talk to someone about my problems, I'm always forcing it on them, so I rarely do. I hope that someday I can have a friend that I can talk to freely, be their shoulder to cry on, as they will be mine. But.. it doesn't seem like that'll happen.. Is it that something's wrong with me? It makes me hate who I am at times..]

It's hard being shy
I assure you it's not a lie
At times I hate everything about me

Nobody will ever let me just be
People drown me in sorrows of their own
People make all their selfish needs clear and known
I can’t say much because my voice is small and I am shy
I’m too scared to speak my mind because I’ll probably cry
People always expect me to be there
And it’s not like I don’t care
But in my time of despair
No one being there for me just really isn’t fair
So selfish I want to be
Because I want someone who is caring and will respect me
But I guess I’ll continue to be lonely and jaded
Because caring and respect are qualities that long ago faded.
