Hi!! I'm Sophia {aka Nespi it's short for Nespi Cho Ineke, my Native name.}. I live in Cali, with my family. I'm a Native American, born here in the states. I am extremely proud of my heritage, I attend ceremonies, and cannot stand wannabes, although I do feel for them, the want to be something you're not, it's ok. Talk to me if you'd like to know anything about the ways. Maybe you can attend a ceremony and see if you like it. This is all I've known my whole life and I love it, I'm not into the strict church ways.BTW. If you tell me you're Native or, have it claimed on your profile... I'm not likely to believe you, and if you are truely Native you would know why. Or if you're smart enough from history, you would know why. So yes, share with me, but only if you're definitely sure.
I live with my family here in Southern California. We have practice Native ways... since... before I was even born or thought of. They've been my whole life. I am the Granddaughter of a Medicine Man, and a descendant of an Incan King. Most people in my family are very important to the praying community. We've introduced many to these ways.
Most of my family is still on the rez, but there are some that are here in Cali, in New Mexico.. and many other states/ countries.
I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. 8 nieces and nephews. And too many aunt's, uncles, cousins, grandparents too count. Just to be clear in Native ways (at least with my family) your parents/aunts and uncles parents are referred to you as Grandparent out of respect. Cousins are just like siblings, that is also something we keep in tradition. Your aunts and uncles are just like extra sets of parents when yours aren't around. And when you are the oldest cousin (as I am in this state anyway) you watch out and protect all of the younger ones. So mess with any of my kids... and regret it horribly...
I do not say this stuff because I am full of myself. It is just the way it has always been. Don't treat me special or anything, and I am SO sick of people doing that because of who I am descended from it is so belittling for them. I do not want to seem rude or anything, I am a nice person, just talk to me, I might seem stuck up or mean at first, but that's only because I'm SHY!! So bear with me biggrin
