People tell me that I am strange. I disagree. It's not because I want to be unique or anything like that. In reality, I am just a lazy person. Do you have any idea how much work it takes to act in a sane manner?
The battle of Fate vs. Free Will
In the past, there was a thing called fate, destiny, or something along those lines, where our lives were already written in stone. If you woke up late, got fired from your job, your tire blew out on your drive home, lost cell phone reception, got robbed while walking home after abandoning your car, tripped over a rock, lost your shoe, and finally got home only to find that your goldfish died and your cat left a half eaten mouse on your couch, well then, it was just meant to be. Hopefully your day won't be destined to suck so much tomorrow. You get the raw end of the deal. But, at least you get to say that since your life is already planned out, you don't have to take responsibility for anything.
As for free will, we choose our own destiny. You became a doctor not because you were fated to be one, but because you chose to go to medical school and fought through the countless migraines and days of sleep deprivation to get that degree. While you have to take responsibility, at least you can feel good about yourself. Maybe, you can even feel accomplished...if you don't pass out right after they give you that rolled up piece of paper.
Personally, I don't care. I'm willing to go through college and get a degree and hopefully a good job later on. It doesn't matter to me whether it was fate or free will.
Likes: anime/manga(unfortunately, I am very picky when it comes to what I want to watch or read), reading(call me a nerd, but I'll be the one laughing when I somehow end up as your future boss), listening to music, playing online, etc.
Dislikes: spiders (creepy things with too many legs), carrots('cause they taste gross), and many other things that would take too long to type out 'cause I'm a lazy person

Yes, I live in a city with disgustingly high crime rates and the only place that celebrates a nearly week long holiday centered around partying. Murder and crime rates aside, New Orleans rocks! ^^
Then again, Mardi Gras, to me, is just an extra holiday. I hate going to parades, so I just sit at home and happily bask in the fact that I don't have to deal with drunk idiots stumbling around and having hard objects thrown in my direction. Besides, what's so great about a string with balls of plastic on it?
I could totally get philosophical on that, but yet again, my lazy procrastinating self is tired of typing needlessly, so I'll leave it at that.
