About
-----------------------------------
- I ALWAYS need to redo my profile ...
-----------------------------------
About my profile itself:
The shoddy half done image (that I am actually quite proud of), is my own work.
The code for the background and the layout setup are " [HatakeKakashi] "s.
I've P.M. him, and am awaiting his permission for use, which is part of the reason this profile is only partly done. I'm obviously already pretty heavily invested in it, so I really hope he doesn't say no.
Mostly, don't see the point in really sprucing it up most of the time, I'm sure there are very few people who care what it looks like. The same as there are very few people who care what kind of pants I am wearing in public. Sure someone might enjoy mocking a display of indifference on my part, but do
they really care?
I doubt it, more likely they just feel smug.
Do I care? Now that's another matter. Yes, I do; however, not enough to fight the site viciously until it gives me what I want, nor enough to struggle with cascading style sheets.
Actually, I really dislike having a generic background offered by the host site, of a site I actually lurk around.
For the record: I have, at times, abandoned gaia for months, but I do always eventually return. Usually once I fix whatever was wrong with my computer, or once my non-electronic life calms down.

If you have no interest in me, or in my personal information ...
(why are you here?)
Do whatever you came to my page to do ... and have a good day?

Av art by drakokatze THANK YOU! *Smiles*
I have never received very many pictures, but I am thankful for every single one of the small amount I have.
Special thanks to 'Vindictive Fox', Druid, and Strange for the art they drew me which I have on my dads computer somewhere, saved from oh so long ago ...

Solar Echo
Ghost is very edumacated O.O. Not that I am surprised but I really like your points and the way you put certain things.
Ghost is Awesome.
~ Yay! I feel special.
It isn't exactly true mind you, but I learn from life, and am not incapable of stringing ideas together in a coherent (, and sometimes coercing) form, and put them forward, so that someone may glean something new.
wink I like to help people through emotional turmoil if I can.

So as to not have sterility (due to priorly applicable reasoning about lack of background and non-gaia pictures) .... Here is a very long rambly list, of somewhat randomly chosen, facts about me:
- Starting with the standard, my real first name is Ivy.
- Yes, I do like purple. The "blue-gray" so light it looks purple is my favorite colour, and I also really enjoy mauve and lilac. I strongly dislike fuchsia though.
- On that same note, I like most colours, and the shades, orange ranks second in my list of colours I like.
- Born: October 11th 1987 - Yeah, for Gaia, I'm 'old'. As my brother would say "Meh".
- I'm a procrastinator, I dislike this about myself most of the time, but, I find it very hard not to be one.
- I'm a gamer, (hence the media - ShadowLeggy being primarily [awesome, but that's besides the point] a game oriented artist, who centers the flash art around the resident evil games primarily) I enjoy the Zelda series, Portal, Harvest Moon series, Resident Evil, Time Splitters, Donkey Kong, Smash Brothers, Diablo I & II, Warcraft, Shadow of Destiny, Primal. I could go on, and on ...
- Types of games: Fantasy RPG's are my thing, and mostly I dislike FPS's but there are a few good ones out there. Anything too war themed I'm unlikely to enjoy. (Because I only like my guns two ways, the individual pistol shot, like in a duel, or gigantic with a big boom to boot. So very small or very big ... and I like sniper rifles ... - Just don't confuse that with me not liking blood. I LIKE blood. I HATE bullets. Knifes and swords = oh baby!)
- When I could convince people to go with me, I would go for walks that were many-many hours long. The most I ever walked was across a city, Kamloops, it took us(me and a friend, poor fellow he'd never been on a really long walk before that) from 8pm the one night until 12-1pm the next day. I loved it, I'd do it again if I could, if only find a good walking partner. I was exhausted though.
- It has been proven that mood wise, "faking it, until you make it" does work, it may just take a lot of work. I try to type in a positive vein for this reason, because I am not a 'positive' person.
- Playing video, and table top games are a hobby of mine. I don't devote enough time to be an expert at any of them though.
- Science Fiction is my favorite novel genre, in movies I often find I enjoy fantasy just a little more. My fiance likes them in reverse.
- I'm "taken", engaged, and happy with that aspect of my life, not that it matters since the only people who ever ask are either just curious, or not serious.
- On that same note, I'm often very surprised by that last fact, since I genuinely thought I'd probably spend most of my life alone (romantically at least), and I was bloody terrified of relationships for the longest time.
- I have odd allergies. For some really peculiar reason, I seem to be allergic to most products that are supposed to be hypoallergenic, or are labeled "sensitive". I'm also allergic to sunscreen and lavender. (the smell gives me an instant headache, yet, if I don't let my nose hover over it, I really enjoy drinking lavender tea and didn't notice any ill effects once I couldn't smell it) I'm allergic to something in dairyland cottage cheese in particular, it makes my mouth burn, yet not to no-name brand for instance=Weird. Not so weird=I'm also allergic to dust. I also used to be sensitive to coconut, if I ate it, I threw up.(haven't been since I was 18 though)
- They need to make waterproof books, I want to read in the shower.
- I have an under active thyroid, I went on pills so that I wouldn't have to stress out about it, and to try to manage my issues with it; their side effect is to cause me irrational, chemical stress and anxiety because they stimulate the adrenal system ... How ironic. Sometimes, I feel as though I can not win.
- I love jokes. I'm always up for a good pun, or often even a groaner. I love word play, or indeed just the quality of somethings writing. (content can be an entirely different matter on occasion.)
- I love showers. On the flip side of the coin, I detest ever being unclothed.
- Turquoise was my favorite colour until I was about 13 since I couldn't make up my mind between blue and green for the longest time.
- My dad used to play Enya for me and my brother as we tried to fall asleep. Unless I was VERY tired, I couldn't fall asleep through the music, but I have rather fuzzy feelings about Enya songs. (I can't generally sleep through anything really audible.)
- I
love the outdoors, my fiance is allergic to the out of doors.
- I am slowly writing a list of all the things I can't seem to viscerally understand/wrap my head around quite fully, but still understand in some form, from an emotionally removed point or logically. That there is a list, displeases me.
- History and math are not boring to me. However, I am no expert with either, and could use more brushing up on both. Science (and yes I do realize what a broad category of things that covers) is
very interesting in my opinion, and for me, always has been.
- Am one of four siblings, three of which are middle children (my eldest sister is a half sibling, and thus has older siblings by her other parent.)
- I try to be honest as much as possible, to tell you the truth(what a punny turn of phrase to be used in this statement *laughs*), I have guilt issues, and a lot of little things eat me as it is, so being truthful is a near necessity for my so called sanity.
- Along that same line, I think positively of the word crazy, I like to refer to myself as insane sometimes ... I've been doing so since I was around seven when I first started seeing counselors for my depression. I think I actually picked it up because it irritated them rather than because I believed it at the time.
- My favorite day of the week is Wednesday, I think it's cool that it's "Odin's day" but I don't
really care. I despise it being referred to as "hump-day" I wish to throttle radio announcers when they say that.
- I'm dyslexic, and I struggle with my spelling, reading, writing, and speaking. I couldn't read
properly in English until I was in grade five. I have always liked language anyways.
- I draw, but life gets in the way a lot. So I often don't finish projects.
- To add to that last point: Before grade four, I could read, at the age appropriate level, in french, until I left french immersion in grade four.
Since then I have lost most of the french I learned. I have always intended to some day try to learn a bit of it again, but learning languages is difficult and time consuming, and life always seems to get in the way.
- My favorite tree if the willow tree. (my second favorite is the magnolia.)
- Curiously, though it's actually completely unrelated and has nothing to do with the willow being my favorite, or why the willow is my favorite. My favorite movie is, you guessed it: Willow.
- Music does not rule my life, I do not live "through it", and I feel nearly irrational frenzy level irritation if I have to spend too long in a place where there is music
always playing. It's good to
listen to, and it's nice to have background noise which is pleasant while working most times. But I find most peoples complete obsession with it at least a little revolting. (Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy and "feel" some songs, but if it's constant, then for me it's just noise.)
- I love answering questions, especially if I can be helpful to the person asking them. However, for the most part, I'm really terrible at asking them. And really enjoy explaining things. (though I'm not always very good at that either)
- Sometimes I find it very fun to speak hyperbolicly in extremes. My belief, however, is that the world is actually all metaphorical shades of gray.
---Mini-section about food-----
- I'm very fond of food.
- Cooking is a passion of mine, though I don't realistically think that I could handle the fast paced nature of most industrial kitchens more often than not. But if you want to chat to me about recipes, I'd love that.
- Lemonade is my favorite drink. I love tea and tisanes, I dislike coffee, for the most part I very strongly dislike alcohol in any form. (but I enjoy adding wine into my sauces.)
- My favorite flavors are Lemon and Mint. Basically though, I LOVE anything citrus, oranges and kiwi's make me drool; and if something is minty, I will likely want to devour it. Citrus or things in the mint family (catnip is in there) are
themes I enjoy, as well.
- I love fruit and vegetables. Richly flavored foods, I love. Creams, natural sweetness, tartness, spices(!!!), savory goodness. Mm.
- I dislike doughnuts, white bread, and plain cake, and actually anything too plain, too sugary, salty, bready, or doughy. I don't like chocolate either, except in really low concentrations, or very small doses. A chocolate chip cookie for instance has very little chocolate, but what chocolate it does have is far too concentrated in flavor for me, so I don't like them. (I used to like white chocolate, but often I find it's way too sweet for me to handle these days.)
- I can't help that I really like juice, however, I like my juice watered down (by most peoples standards) too, because often it's far too sugary. Real fruit juices however, I'll often drink straight because they are too delicious to resist. Cherry juice for instance. I also don't do this if the juice has more flavor, and less sugar. But that pretty much doesn't happen with basically any commercially produced juices.
- Sauce, how I adore sauces ... I love soups too.
- Vinegar however is something that I can't stand in large doses, it's way too over powering, so due to their vinegar content most salad dressings are right out, and I'm not very fond of mayonnaise either.
- That I love cheese. And that I have this strange need to eat at least one thing which is tomato flavored a week or I crave them like mad, should be somewhere in this section. (P.S. my food cravings don't go away if I try to ignore them, they persist until I find a replacement craving I want even more or fulfill them. Fortunately my cravings are almost unanimously either a fruit or a vegetable.)
- Until I was eight years old my family was vegetarian, if I went to friends or relatives houses for dinner I'd eat meat there, but that sort of thing was rare. After that my parents included meat in mine and my brothers diets. I think it actually gave me a greater appreciation for all foods in the long run.

About Art.
*** Special apologies to all those whom I have probably promised art and then who have either dropped off the face of Gaia so I didn't know if they still wanted it, or who have had the inconvenient timing (which seems to be strangely regularly tuned with my creative inclinations) of getting to sit by when my non-computerized life goes crazy DEMANDING my attention until either I drop off the face of Gaia, or the person who I was intending to do art for, looses interest. (or as aforementioned, drops off the face of gaia themselves.) ***
I feel guilty about it, I haven't forgotten most of you, or at least not most of your art projects, I just don't have the guts to come back several months, or even a year later and say "hey, I finished that art you wanted -whoknowshowlongago- " yeah no ... instead, I stew in guilt.
I'm sorry.

Picture:
Me a couple of years ago - I still look fairly similar ... I'll eventually upload a new picture I guess.
IF anybody cares to know ... I have blue eyes, and my hair is (at this point) probably classified as a light brown. (It's edging away from dirty blond, so it's on the very light side of it.) I have strong gold and red highlights, and my whole childhood my hair was golden blond.
At this point, my preference for my hair, is when it's dyed some shade of red. My mother and grandmother have natural red hair, and I have their complexions, so it does suit me fairly well.

I love my cats. This is their little section of my profile.
It doesn't always matter that they can't hold conversations (though I sometimes really wish they could. [ I'm not one of those who is "happier because they can't talk" - That kind of attitude irritates me for some reason.]), no, it doesn't always matter that they can be insensitive jerks too (in a manner of speaking), it doesn't always matter that they can't understand most of what goes on around them, or that they have no sense of propriety, and take most things for granted.
It may sound strange out of context, but, they (pets in general) help to shape the lives of the people they live with, for better or for worse; for me it has been for the better ...
(Of course, I hasten to add that ANYTHING you pour your time and attention into will shape your life. - However, that is not the point.)
Anyways, on to the cats!
Zeita:
Zeita the beast, and a sock
Zeita is my darling. Born on may 19th of 2005. I got her when she was only three weeks old, meaning she was too young to be away from her mother and thus was a lot of work to look after ... but I adore her all the more for it.
She is incredibly affectionate when given the chance, but also has a major temper problem if you do something to piss her off. She is also very stubborn, her way or the highway most days. But she loves me, and I know it ... so "s'all good."
Zeita when I first got her
Kaja:
It's pronounced Kai-ya - She is my fiance's first pet, and both the most mellow cat ever, and a holy beastly terror. I haven't got a picture of her up on photobucket at the moment. She's grey with just a bit of white on her belly.
Born August 22, 2009. She's incredibly playful, happy go lucky, and curious, she also scares easily. She get's into EVERYTHING, and is a harsh food thief, she loves dried seaweed and fresh spinach for some reason - she treats them like catnip mice (which she goes totally mental over by the way) "Cute, Hyper, Little Weirdo" about sums her up.
Abbadon:
Abbadon
Abbadon, the white cat of death, the angel of the abyss, my little beast. He is technically my fathers cat and doesn't live with me, but I raised him and looked after him for the first three years of his life, so I still feel I have a valid claim. Born approximately June 17th ...
- He is incredibly cuddly ... but also incredibly destructive. Originally named Daisy (I'm sure THAT would have gone over well - lol!) He is a beloved terror.
(And if you can't quite tell from the picture, he has two different coloured eyes - one golden brown, one ice blue.)
