The one on the other side of a forfeit doesn't lose anything - the opponent will gain any essence and experience from kills they made during the match. (Actually just had a fight that confirmed this.)
re: Ah, that. Well yeah, I just consider that polite. When it isn't reasonable to expect a victory past a certain point, I don't want to waste the other person's time by drawing the match on longer than it needs to. I apologize if you may have taken offense to the gesture, though. neutral
re: I've heard there's a bug in the game where if you don't get a match within the queuing system for HoC and don't immediately follow by hitting "retry," another player will be put in a match against you where you yourself are not playing. Mighty inconvenient for the other person. Apparently they're working on a fix, but in the meantime if you see your opponent doesn't move on the first turn or two that's probably what happened. Unless I misunderstood what you meant by retreat, then we're probably commenting about completely different things. sweatdrop
