WISDOM FROM WHAT I AM

My looks can be deceiving
But my lips speak only truth
My eyes can not lie
I'm as innocent as youth

I speak and sing of my heart's desire
But I write what others crave
I walk among the ancient shadows
And I deny that which others rave

I am sharp of mind
And still of tounge
But when I speak
Others run

My thoughts are sharp
And as old as time
But I am blessed
With the gift of rhyme

I give to others
Till I can give no more
Those like me
Only excist in lore

But I am real
And know of heart
But with my loves
I'm doomed to part

Heed my words
And listen well
For only once
Shall I tell

Waist not your days
In petty ways
But live your life
With little strife
