The rain poured down heavy on his shoulders as he staggered towards her holding tightly to his arm as the blood washed through his fingers pooling at his feet. He had to get to her. He had to know she was alright, but most of all he had to hold her and feel her warmth to know that she was really there. That it was really over. That everyone was safe...
