About
Character Analysis Zero is usually pretty cold around death. He's witnessed countless deaths of innocents and those influenced by the Sigma Virus, but he never even batted an eyelash. In fairness, he has witnessed countless deaths, many by his hands, and many of innocents when he was a Maverick. Having to put this behind him could've influenced his inability to become emotional when he witnesses death. The only time he's broken down during the entire series was during Iris' death. This one was unique in that it affected him, as it was his love. Despite his cold exterior, he couldn't contain his anguish when she died. it is interesting though, to note, that this event still influences him, as Zero has noticeably grown colder, jaded, and more distant in recent years. Still, he is ruthless when it comes to Mavericks, and seems desensitized to their pain. If he's ordered to kill them, or if it's required to complete the mission, he'll do it readily. Zero probably knew that Colonel and General didn't have bad intentions, but the Hunters had ordered their disposal. While X felt guilty about having to take down these innocents, Zero did it for the mission. To his friends, though, Zero is friendly and self-sacrificing. Though cold around death, he showed special consideration for Iris when her first mission was a horrific one, seemingly indicating that he had some sort of feelings for her. In his mind, he sees X as a true and best friend, and knows that together they can accomplish anything. However, due to his rough exterior wall, he refuses to ever tell X how he feels about their friendship. Zero is always the first to volunteer when a dangerous situation comes that may mean his death. It would seem that due to his memories, he doesn't hold much value in life, and is always willing to sacrifice it for a greater good, whether it be for the fate of the entire Earth or simply for a friend.
