My name is Eobard Thawne and I didn't always hate Barry Allen. I was obsessed with him. He was a legend, a myth in my time - but I idolised him. He was the saviour of Central City, and had extraordinary abilities that most could only dream of. It was my dream to go back to the time period of The Flash and become his side kick - to live in history with my hero. So I spent years figuring out how he came to be, duplicated the reaction that gave him his powers...
and it worked...
I became just like the Flash. So I went back to meet my hero, but it wasn't meant to be. The Flash Museum revealed that I was to become his greatest enemy, Eobard Thawne was to become Professor Zoom. It struck me then... perhaps if I wasn't Eobard Thawne, then I would never become Professor Zoom. So I became exactly like my hero, his facial features, his suit, everything. It wasn't until the Flash of that era, Wally West, decided he would ruin everything. Attempting to ruin my life, he attacked me. Telling me I wasn't The Flash, that I wasn't Barry. Such blaspheme from him, a pretender himself! So I fought Wally, and I won. Until Barry came... my hero... turned out to be the man who I hated the most. He didn't understand, he was ruthless, nothing like the man I came to love so much - so I became the Reverse of everything that he was. The more people he saved, the more he was loved, the more I would have to take from him.
After murdering Barry's mother, for 15 years I was trapped in the past with only one goal. Home. To do this? I must create and train my most hated enemy, The Flash, and use his powers to rupture space and time and open a wormhole to the future. Then Barry Allen will die. I may be Harrison Wells to some, genius founder of S.T.A.R. Labs and mastermind of the Particle Accelerator - but secretly I am something much more. I am the Reverse Flash.
