For 9 months, I was away. For 5 of those months, I was a Protector. They looked to me for protection. They looked to me for guidance. They looked to me for help, when no one else could lend a hand. As I sit at home now, I remember. I remember the faces, the streets, the buldings. I remember the small Iraqi town. I remember the friends, and the enemies. An they will stay with me forever.We grieve in our victory
Eleven of us do not return home,
We brought Order out of Chaos,
We Healed where there was only Hurt,
We offered a Taste of Justice and Peace
amid the Violence and Death,
Our Victory is genuine and we are proud.
But each one paid a price, and eleven of us paid everything,
And so, amid the joy of our homecoming,
the love of our families and the
pride of our victory we
pledge to our fallen:
When we feel the Pride, we will think of You,
And when we think of You we will feel again the Pride.
