Beware, colleges that say they have a Music Industry major are actually just combining Business and Music Performance into a bad mix. You get the Business major classes of developing and selling a product, which have little to no relation to the music industry today. Music Performance just teaches you all the technical stuff about playing music.
The MI program at my college is supposed to get us familiar with all aspects of the music industry so we can be prepared to be a producer, sound engineer, studio musician, performer, etc. Some people intend on building contacts through the program so they can launch their career as a performer. Others plan to open up their own music publishing companies. I personally intend on heading to law school and becoming an entertainment lawyer.
The work depends on your major, I guess. I'm a Music Industry major, so most of the classes involve me learning about music history, how to play music, how to play different instruments. I mostly have to practice a lot. For my GEs, they're hybrid format, which means half of it's online and half is in the classroom. We have lots of little quizzes and assignments that are easy to do, but are tedious because there's just so darn many of them scream But I think AP is harder than what I'm doing now, and I'm taking honors courses. So you'll be fine, I'm sure. What college are you thinking of going to, if it's not too much to pry?
Ugh, English. I just finished that last semester. xp Absolutely hated it because my professor was nuts. I'm actually a full-time college undergrad right now and the work's a pain.
Of course I read your suggestions! I think they have merit. It's up to evilbrainbabies, though. It'll take him a while to get things together and rolling, I understand that he's taking college classes at the moment.
You should leave one of these
