Hello my name is Michael and i am 19 years old! I joined Gaia about four years ago, and i really enjoy this site and don't want to forget it. I don't care how old i am, Gaia ROCKS!!!!!! Most people don't know and sometimes can't remember, is that i am deaf in my left ear. The doctors never really understood how it happened, they think it was a virus and it killed my ear. I can hear a little bit in my left ear, but not as good. But i don't let my ear affect anything and no one treats me differently because of it which is great. My hobbies are drawing different kinds of anime, marathon running, and listen to music. My favorite movies that i've seen this summer would have to be The Bourne Ultimatum, Hairspray, Stardust, Harry Potter #5, and 1408.
I'm not like all the other guys, I'm a shy person and it's somewhat hard to make friends, but i've done better at talking and coming out of my shell. If you got to know me, i am a really talkative person and i like making people laugh. Mathematics is my specialty and i really enjoy numbers and solving equations. I plan on going to college to either get my Master's Degree in teaching high school math, or get an Accounting degree.
About three years ago, my mom and dad got a divorce because my father turned out to be gay. It was a big shocker and it still feels like i'm dreaming and I can't wake up. A few months after they split, my mom hooked up with another guy who is really cool and he has a 16 year old son who lives with me, my mom, and my 16 year old sister. I have a 21 year old brother but he is a complete loser because he had a baby girl and he pretty much gave her up and now everyone in the house takes care of her. I watch her monday through friday while my mom works. Her name is Isabella and she is 16 months old. When stuff like this happends to someone, it can really change a person. I have been fighting with depression after all this happend. Most of my depression is caused by one person and it would be my mom's boyfriend's son, Dorien.
When we first met each other, we got along well and shared a lot of likes and interests. As the months went by we go closer and closer to each other and we always did things together like play video games, listen to music, play Risk or Pirates. You can only imagine how much fun i had when i was with this kid after going through the life changing experiences. I pretty much forgot about what was going on. But like every story theirs always a problem. It started about the beginning of this year (2010) when he started to change. We shared a room and then he moved to the garage room and he hardly would hang out with me. Then he started talking to random girls that he would find online and start texting them. Something you should know about him is that his cell phone is life. He is texting every second of his life. As the year progressed, he hardly wants to do anything with me. I ask him if he wants to hangout, he gives me an excuse saying he is doing something or he has plans with one of his friends, and i find out that he lies to me and he is just in his room texting or playing games. And even if i get the chance to hangout with him, he mostly ignores me because he's texting. I wish i could smash his phone to pieces and see how i does without it. Anyone who reads this may not understand any of this unless you have ever been close to someone before and then they just decide to ignore you and no longer want to be friends with you without knowing what you did wrong. Losing my best friend has made me very depressed and i try to tell myself to just give up on him because no matter what i do, he isn't going to want to do anything with me. But for some reason something is holding me back and keeping me from saying goodbye to him. I wish there was someone out there that has felt the same way and has the answer. Day by day i keep losing hope and eventually there will be nothing left and i'll drown in my sorrow.
The friends that i made in high school are my family. I liked being around them because they always knew how to cheer me up. But since we all graduated in June, things have changed. They all went there separate ways, but we still stay in touch on facebook. I hangout with some of my friends. My two close friends are Dip and Ruben. We sometimes every month go watch a movie and then we have a midnight dinner at McDonalds. I really miss everyone from school. I would say the hardest thing in my life would be saying goodbye to all my friends.
