About
Name: Tim
Age: 25
Things I am most passionate about: My faith, my girlfriend, politics, philosophy, literature, music.
Now that that myspace-rific intro is out of the way, I'll try to introduce myself a bit more artfully. I was invited to Gaia in 2004 by my current girlfriend (back then no more than a friend) and I've loved it ever since, even as my interest in anime has waned. I realize that my clothing isn't expensive and my profile's color scheme isn't that interesting. Being more of a writer than an artist, I could hardly care less. Judge me by my posts.
I'm graduated from college with a degree in philosophy. Dabbled in law, but not sure it's for me.
I am somewhere between conservative and libertarian, though I'll readily criticize the Republican party when they make decisions I disagree with. I am also Christian and I believe the Bible is the word of God, though I take into account that, as it was written by man, there may be factual errors and some of it may be allegorical. Being a Nazarene, I am not a fundamentalist, though I think the ethics of the Bible are worth following and, for the Christian, not just advice. And though I am no scientist, I am sympathetic to the ideas of Theistic Evolution. I find the Christian assault on descriptive science reprehensible, though understandable since science has since become just as prescriptive. I enjoy debating but I tend to be so long-winded that I rarely post.
Entertainment-wise, I love certain kinds of science fiction (the Ender Quartet by Orson Scott Card is particularly good) but I find that the genre tends to be a bit pretentious. I like technically impressive music with a melody, which keeps my tastes diverse--from classical, to jazz, to prog rock, to metal (specifically heavy, power, prog, and doom). I do not like growling, melodrama, or noise in my music.
As a hobby, I love writing prose and poetry, though I don't consider myself particularly good at it. I've never successfully completed a fanfic, mainly because I'm always starting work on a new one!
I also have a wonderful girlfriend, (Hotaru-Neko), who's helped me through a number of difficult times. The two of us spend a lot of time talking about our future and we are virtually inseparable. There are few things I look forward to in life, but the prospect of starting a family with this wonderful person is my single true motivation.
I love meeting new people here on gaia, so if you want to PM me about anything, go ahead! Just remember, I have a bad habit of not returning PM's for months on end, so I might need a little reminder every once in awhile. XD

Life of a Parasite
As your average slacker of a student, I swear to give a relatively thourough account of my many hours of boredom when I deem fit.
I swear this upon my own intellect, which isn't much...but meh, it's worth something to someone...I think.
