Look at the spoiler if you want to read a rant about Gaia that I wrote years ago. Lots of people still like it, so I'm keeping it for now. It is long, so you have been warned. >.<
Okay, so I have just one thing to say to all of you Gaians, new and old...
I have been here for a long time. I joined the same year that Gaia was created. Now I'm not trying to say that I know everything or that I am superior to other people who joined later, that's not my intent at all of this, so please keep reading.
As you can expect, a lot of things have changed since then. A LOT. These changes have been both for the better and for the worse... but there is one in particular that I would like to talk about.
I own an angelic scarf. It was my first donation item (now known today as monthly collectible), and as you may or may not know, it is very expensive as of right now. It seems to have become one of those items that take a lifetime to save up for, like so many others that I have seen in the past. Anyway, a friend of mine, being somewhat newer to this website, wanted to borrow it for fashion purposes... and so, of course, I lent it to the person.
But this person within a couple of days got hacked because he got a PM with a link in it, and it ended up being a hacker's trap, resulting in him losing all of his expensive items... including my angelic scarf.
First off, if you are reading this and happen to be a hacker, you need to STOP IT. NOBODY likes hackers, and you all are just pussies who decide it's worth it to ruin someone else's day and steal their hard-earned items instead of doing it like everyone else and working for it. You know, as much as I hate the growing inflation on this website, those items are expensive for a reason. If everything was cheap, then there would be no fun in it, right? So, my advice to you: give back the items you have stolen (if you haven't been banned yet) and apologize to the person. Why? Well, put it this way: would YOU like it if someone hacked into your account and stole everything from you?
I didn't think so.
And of course, as the saying goes, 'the one stupid person ends up ruining it for everyone else'. Don't just assume that it's fine just because you're just one person, because it's not. It never is, and it never will be. Heck, they've made getting gold on Gaia so much easier than it was when Gaia first started and everything is so much more expensive nowadays, so it really shouldn't be that hard to save up for some of those items that you really desire.
To everyone else:
What the heck? What has happened to us? We have demoralized ourselves so much, it's disgusting. If your avatar looks rich, you automatically get PMs of hackers and fake admins trying to get your password; the chatterbox has become a complete toilet, filled with nothing but vulgar discussions and people doing perverted things; in Barton town, if you are a literate roleplayer and you're looking for an actual literate RP, good luck, because there are none... all of the literates have fled to guilds or one-on-ones, and they're becoming extinct; in the gaia towns, people openly talk about cybering and say things like 'if you're looking for a bf, press 1'; most people have given up on the English language and have resorted to leet and horrific, slaughtered versions of English, to the point where it's impossible to read; people sell things in the marketplace that are sold in the stores for higher than the store price.
There are many more problems that Gaia is facing with... but now you may ask, what are we to do about it?
I say, set an example.
Don't hack others for items. Fully type out your words. Don't rip people off when selling items. Treat each other respectfully and modestly. It may not seem like much, but it really is. You make the ones who are doing wrong look stupid and ignorant.
To Gaia: This website needs stronger intervention. We cannot do it all alone. There are people breaking the TOS right and left, and they are not getting caught for their actions. Please help us fix this place back up.

EDIT: The person who was hacked got their items returned, including my angelic scarf, which is now in my possession. However, I will be leaving this story up to make my point, my thoughts on these issues still standing. 3nodding
yeah i honestly think its easier just takes a while to get used to! i like it better than having to type 1,000,000,000 lol thats just 100plat easier and no problem thanks for buying!
