I read english translations of the Dharma online and meditate when I can, trying to take the Buddha's words into account. That was all, thank you. ^^ I was wondering because I made my own malas, so they're very plain. My first one is just oak wood (we don't have sandalwood around here) on twine. And then my second is just hematite on a clear string. The latter of the two is just plain; no guru bead or tassel. But the first one has a frayed tassle out of twine.
