Fine points: Mako is extremely responsible for his young age, in a single day he juggles school, a part time job, and taking care of himself fully. Recently emancipated from his mother, Mako lives on his own in a single bedroom apartment. He works mercilessly to keep his job at a small bakery and to succeed in school, though he has a hard time keeping his grades up and sometimes finds it difficult to make ends meat.
Mako adores his job at the bakery, and the owner adores having him as an employee. Although he is careful when pulling fresh pastry treats from the brick oven, Mako tends to burn himself often. His arms are covered in scars. His job may be dangerous for a boy his age, but he hopes to one day manage over it. Mako’s social life isn’t very grand, he doesn’t have time to make friends or play games with the other children. If you were to ask him about his friends, he’d most likely list off names of common customers to the bakery.
Life for Mako is difficult sometimes, but he makes the best of it. His cheery and upbeat attitude attract people to him. Other facts: Mako has a very limited diet. He eats like a first year collage student would, eating ramen three to four times a day. Also he is allowed to take home left over pastries from the bakery. It is rare that he treats himself to a quality meal. Because he is young his metabolism is fast and he also sometimes skips meals because he can’t afford it, thus he weighs a grand total of 53 pounds and stands at 4’7’’ tall. His diet has permanently stunted his growth.
Mako attends an all boy’s school five days a week. He doesn’t particularly care for school but is determined to graduate elementary and eventually middle school. He however, as of now, does not have plans for collage. Silly, he’s only eleven!Mako finds it hard to put time into studying and homework. He turns in many assignments late and often fails his test. Perhaps he should look into tutoring?
His school has a rather bland uniform that is required; Mako doesn’t care for it since it isn’t very colorful or cute.
Currently he is in the fourth grade.
When bed time comes around Mako has issues sleeping. The second his head hits the pillow his mind races with so many different worries at once he sometimes works himself into a panic attack. It is then that he allows himself to break in and cry. Bills to pay, food to buy and tomorrow’s math test; these aren’t things someone his age should really stress over. Not to mention, he sleeps on an old sofa. He's unable to afford an actual mattress. OOC//
Mako is always open for role play, as long as you are able to do so with literacy. No chat speak, I cannot stand or understand most of it. Don’t be mean or insulting. I will show you respect so as long as you show me the same. If you treat me disrespectfully, expect me to treat you the same.
