About
I was born and raised mostly in the Upper Mid-West. Early in my childhood my family and I traveled around the western states but never stayed in one location for more than a few months.I suppose I should share a little about myself beyond that, huh? Well, I'm a middle aged guy with more hobbies & interests than I have time on my hands! My first priority though is & always will be my family though.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes last year which really changed the course of my lifestyle. I immediately made vast changes to my diet. I do my best to remain GMO free, stick to organic products wherever possible, cut my carbohydrate & sugar intake to a bare minimum and have eliminated that occasional indulgence in fast food. I've discovered that prepackaged food preservatives have a SEVERE effect on my blood glucose levels and so have cut those down to a bare minimum by making food the good old fashioned way. With carbohydrates & sugars severely reduced I've also drastically increased my consumption of fresh vegetables; In fact my dietary staple now is a green salad either with something added to it or on the side.
Now a year later I am working on increasing my activity levels and keeping careful track of my blood glucose and weight. I've lost a fair amount of body mass since this all started, I look and feel better, even if I am still insulin dependent. Ultimately though my goal is to reach a point where I am no longer reliant on anything but controlling my diet.
Aside from my family and health, I have been fascinated with aircraft involved in warfare whether directly or in support thereof, since I was a toddler. I'm no longer entirely satisfied with commonly known aircraft types & stories related to their common use; I find far more interest in the most of obscure types, common types in obscure or strange services & their strange records of service.
I have a collection of models that numbers into the hundreds with a massive reference library (In addition to multitudes of other books) that makes our living room look quite like a genuine library!
I am also a life long gamer, having played table-top role-playing games since the Autumn months of 1990 or 1991. I initially cut my teeth in gaming on Palladium Book's flagship game called RIFTS, a post-apocalyptic, science-fiction, fantasy, steampunk & horror mashup - literally a game with infinite possibilities. Its system is outdated & clunky but its the system I know best. (I have experimented with creating a new game system that utilized the same setting & would be happy to share those details if you are interested.)
I spend a fair amount of time writing up source material and adventure ideas for RIFTS which I share online with a handful of communities. My passion for creation has never faded, even after losing a steady game group. (Though I would love to get involved in a Gaia RIFTS group OR even play a character in a freestyle RP.)
Through this hobby I learned that I actually have some talent as a writer though I am my own worst critic & will subject my works to countless edits or revisions before I consider them complete. Incidentally my work has seen publication in two of Palladium Book's projects & has seen series distribution on the web. I've also seen publication in webzines for my model building hobby, providing both in-box and build-up reviews.
I don't intend to quit there however. I have tons of other ideas in mind for articles & supplementary books. Ultimately though I would like to become a novelist that writes in the fantasy, science-fiction & historical fiction genres. For the record, in my opinion, there is NO such thing as a good story without a romance being integral to the story plot - so I suppose you could say I will be writing romance novels with the aforementioned genres as a background.
Despite my age & being late in discovering its appeal the same year I created this account I've became quite the anime geek! My favorites are Toradora!, Gundam SEED, Bleach (Through to the end of the Rukia rescue arc,) Clannad/Clannad After Story, Gate: Thus the Japanese Self-Defense Force Fought There, Sword Art Online, Overlord, Outbreak Company ... just to name a few! sweatdrop ) I do read Manga & Light Novels periodically as well.
When I first created this account in October of 2007, I was not active politically, in the wake of the Bush Presidency I was just eager to see someone new coming into the White House. In 2015-2016 I really stood up and took notice of things going on in this nation & the world as a whole. I realized I couldn't just sit back & let my voice stay silent. For the sake of my children, the nation within which they & I were born to as well as the world though I felt I couldn't just sit back as a casual observer any longer.
I am a die hard Political Independent & do not view either side of the aisle as being the answer to everything. I do not follow cults of personalities & have a hard time handling the narcissism that seems rampant throughout politics at every level of government especially in the United States. I am also tired of seeing justice being neglected, for political reasons for one person or group, while the other is scrutinized with a fine toothed comb and persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I have friends all over the world, of every political ideology, faith and ethnicity. I'm open to political discussions so if this topic interests you, feel free to drop me a line.
In terms of religious beliefs, I am not part of any organized religion/church/cult/coven/etc. - I consider my beliefs to be spiritual in nature with an additional focus on moral principle. As far as "worship" goes, I feel it is more like a give/take relationship, both in terms of that which is divine as well as those whom have passed before us. I'm as likely to speak with my maternal grandmother as I am a divinity I identify with on different matters. It all depends on what I am asking or simply conveying.

The usual team I ran in my campaign was Glitter Boy, Burster, Cyber-Knight, and a Dragon Hatchling. My favorite expansions were England, Atlantis, Mexico, Japan, and Mercenaries. I would love to either run or play another on over discord. Heck, pretty certain I have a few old Palladium books around here as well. Let me know if you want to or just talk about our old Rifts days.
thank you for everything you do.

Hmm, Gundam Seed is that good? Maybe I'll try watching it when I have some free time. I only remember some of the main characters, like Athrun, Kira, and Lacus. Have you tried watching Code Geass? It's got some mecha in it, and it's very political.
Oh, you're a family of modelers? That's pretty cool. If model kits aren't so expensive, I'd probably collect some. My dad doesn't have the patience for building so he mostly collects die-cast cars. How much does your average aircraft kit cost?
And I totally understand why you're reluctant to try some gunpla. It's really difficult to just buy one kit because there are a lot of models that are very cool and fun to build. Still, if you're a bit interested, you can check out the SD gunpla kits. They are like chibi versions of the mobile suit, and they're cheaper and easier to build. It takes roughly 30 minutes to 1 hour to build one.
Caved in and bought the 3rd baking station thing lol
you're welcome.
Please enjoy your item, have a great day. biggrin
thanks for the purchase
