The heat can get pretty bad, but I have a pool and the AC is working just fine, so it's not too bad right now. I do feel bad for Newsie though, who is an outdoor cat with one eye that we've unofficially adopted. since he stays in our front yard and the shade all day. He's got his multiple little houses to sleep in, but he always prefers to sleep on top of them, and he's fed multiple times a day so he doesn't have to hunt. Still, I wish he could come inside, but we have seven already.

I take it since it was 10 hours it was all in one long drive? Was the family reunion the reason for the 10-hour drive, or was that for something else? I hope you're family is doing well!

Ah, things have been up and down. My grandma passed last year in November, so we're still picking up the pieces and trying to settle everything. I feel so bad for my mom, as it is hitting her very hard still, and she's unfortunately sick right now too. Aside from that, we're trying to keep strong.

That's one of the good things regarding where I live; ice isn't really a thing since it's a desert. It's only snowed here maybe 4 times in the 34 years I've lived here. Not to say it doesn't get cold, because it does, but snow isn't something I have to really worry about.
Did you do anything interesting this summer?

My current doctor is actually just fine. but I have to pay out of pocket. He's under my insurance plan, and one of the nurses suggested I try and get a referral to them. Sadly, that wasn't the case and it almost screwed me over, so I got REALLY lucky. But I'm now scared to try again in the hopes they will refer me to them because I don't want to have that fail again and they won't take me back next time, you know?

How is V5 different and less edgy? I recall parts of the video game, and I actually do recall hearing about the tabletop version in passing. Have you played the video game?

Turns out that doctor was a total bust! The issue was he refused to prescribe me the painkillers, which is something I've been taking since I was 18 until he knew more about my condition. Which, you know, is a horrible and incredibly stupid thing to do, because who knew when I'd get a referral to have an MRI or whatever for my lower back, and he'd made it clear he doesn't like prescribing them anyway unless I had cancer or something. I learned though, that if I was forced to keep seeing him, that would be considered medical malpractice and I could have sued him, because you cannot just STOP someone from taking painkillers cold turkey. Opioid detox can be deadly, as is detoxing from benzos, if you are not in the proper medical setting, and he made zero suggestions of me signing into some sort of detox center for that.

******** stupid doctor, if you ask me. It's almost like he doesn't truly understand how ******** they can make someone when they're suddenly forced to stop, without the medical setting to keep them safe. I've seen what detox from opioids does to people, and it's ******** TERRIFIYING! Seizures, unable to sleep OR eat due to throwing up bile constantly. So I'm back to my previous one, who sounds like they'll still keep seeing me and refill my meds. I hope.

I've always been curious about tabletop. Is the tabletop version of that similar to the video game, or is the video game an adaptation from the tabletop?

I'll admit, money has been tight for Mom and me since my grandma's passing, but at least we still have a roof over our heads. Cats are still doing well too!
I'm going to be visiting my new pain management doctor tomorrow, so here's to hoping he's a good one!
