“What was that?” Yuki, a young wolf demon, said looking up and sniffing the night air. The air felt good running up Yuki’s nostrils; it was cool like the wind. After a minute or two sniffing the air, he dropped his gaze on his sister that looked just like him.
“So, what is wrong?”
“I don’t know but I smelled blood in the air.”
“Blood? How can you smell blood when we are in the middle of nowhere?” Yuri said with a growl on her face. Yuri was a year younger than Yuki and didn’t understand much about her own race more or less want to learn. But Yuri does know a lot about the outdoors, on the other hand loves the books in the Innu Library. The only big difference between them is that Yuki thinks before he acts and Yuri does whatever is on the top of her mind. “I mean how can you smell blood when I can’t and besides that, our village is fifty miles away from here!”
“I know I don’t understand that either. Maybe my nose is playing tricks on me.”
“Or maybe there was an animal fight near by.” Yuki said with a smirk on her face. She always wanted to see animals fight over a female or a kingdom. “Either that or you’re just nuts!” Yuki didn’t brother to comment on that for he knew that he was going to lose, Yuri had the sharpest mouth within the Innu tribe. If anyone that was to smart-mouth her, they will be in a world of hurt.
“Okay then lets go.” Yuki sighed. Yuri smiled with contentment knowing that she has won. “Sure” She giggled. Without a word they jumped into the air like a rocket and caught the wind beneath their out-spread arms. They were demons and they knew how to fly like young eagles.
It seems to Yuri that they had done this a million times (they had) but for some reason today was different. The woods were quiet and there weren’t any animals about. Yuri looked over at her big brother w
