Exerpt from my book Roses And Poesies

Sixteen rows in. The twelvth stone to the left, the one with an eagle carved on it. "Hello, Amets. I said, staring at her stone. "i wish my paranoia had been enough to save you.
"MOM!" came the shout, I turned and walked back up the hill. I glanced back, Was that Amets? Standing right behind the stone? Waving at me? No. It couldn't be....Could it? The figure waved once more and disappeared. I thought I herad an eagle call. I stood frozen, staring around me, listening.
"MOM!" the shout of my oldest daughter brought me back to the present, I walked towards her voice.
"What is it Amets?" I asked. She popped down to the ground, her fourteen year old form the perfect picture of my friend.
"I found something with my name on it," She handed me an old, beat up, weather worn Diary. My god. It couldn't be? I stared at the silver writing on the black cover. Amets Thompson The Eagle does Dream.
"Mom? What's wrong?"
I smiled at my daughter, "You see this graveyard? This was once a town. All citizens died because of a horrible, terrible plague. There was a girl named Amets here...she was my Best friend. You're named after her." I said. She nodded, her eyes understanding. A folded rom the diary floated to the ground I picked it up and, opening it, I began to read: 'Aislinn, if you're reading this, it means I'm dead. And that you named your first daughter Amets Arabella. Anyway, Keep my diary. Tell the story of our town. Your story. My story. The cat's story. If the cat isn't dead that is....' I wiped tears from my eyes and continued, my daughter searching the sky. 'Linn, I can never forget our friendship. We went through some hard stuff together. I would bleed for you, you know that right? I know you would do the same for me. Take my diary, It's half yours, we were part of each other. The eagle does dream, Linn. Amets.' Tears clouded my vision as I held the diary in my right hand, and the letter from my friend in the other. "Amets, I did bleed for you, your grave was dug by me. The intern helped, he turned out better than the doctor. I wish I could have saved you...." I thought, then I felt something lightly grab my shoulders, air compressing on them.
"Gotcha..." Tears streaked down my face.
"Yes, you finally did." I said to the air, I heard the faint laughter, disappearing as my daughter pointed to the sky and said in the way of my old friend.
"Look, Mom, an eagle."
