Play the market.
Buy low, sell high.
I play puzzles a lot. Insane mode. I always do the same one so I get them done quicker.
Playing cards helps, use all tokens to get a lot of tickets. Tickets sell.
If you fish, don't exchange the fish for bigger fish. It's a rip off if you're only fishing to sell.
Do quests.
When events show up, always participate. You get plenty of money quick that way.
If you have a skill like drawing, sell art.
That's really all I can think of right now.
