<shrug> I dunno if some of the lines of the verses work with that, I'd have to check that out. I thought that going line by line, mine made pretty good sense. I'll check later how well that interpretation fits for me.

...A transistor radio? Yes? The twisted transistor is dark music that helps the misunderstood types of girls that listen to it to deal with life. Cuz it's all they have.

Yes, the song alludes to comparing the music to masturbation in that it's a dark pleasure and a form of release, but that's not the main focus. It's a song about twisted music helping to cope with things.
