Pre-Time Skip Rank: Genin. This is the lowest rank for a ninja. Most Genin's don't perform missions, but train like academy students. Instead of getting high level missins, Genin usually perform low ranked missions like harsh labor and other mundane tasks. This wasn't the case for Temari and her brothers as they were assigned a high level mission which you normally save for a Jounin.
Post-Time Skip Rank: Jounin. Except for Kage, this is the highest rank a ninja can receive. Jounins are given the most dangerous missions. Jounin are also assigned a group of 3 Genin to train and instruct.

Weapon: That big fan. This huge fold-up fan is Temari's primary weapon. Her fan has 3 purple circles drawn on it. Each purple circle that is unfolded increases the fan's power greatly. Temari can use this fan to summon great gusts of wind and even use it to fly around.
Techniques: Dust Wind (Ninpou Fuusajin), Summoning Technique (Kyuichose No Jutsu), Sickling Winds (Ninpou Kamaitachi), Spinning Whirl (Kirikiri)
Summon:Kirikiri Mai - Kirikiri Mai is a weasel-like creature that is summoned by Temari during the fight with Tayuya. It can fly and carries a sickle that cuts everything in its path
Background: Genin of Sand sent to take part in the Chuunin exams in the Leaf.
The Deal with her: Probably the toughest Genin to take part in the Chuunin exams with Naruto and gang, Temari is the daughter of the Kage of the Sand and sister of Gaara. In the guise of taking the exams, she and her teammates/siblings were actually sent on an A-rank mission. Her main function to assist in the Sand's invasion of the Leaf and keep a watch over Gaara. During the exam, she easily beats Tenten and wins against Shikamura due to him losing all of his chakra. Her weapon is that big fan she carries with her and her main jutsu is the Sickling Winds technique, which, at a wave of the fan from her, blows up a windstorm embedded with chakra to sting her opponents.
After the invasion fo the Leaf by the Sand and Sound failed, she escaped back to the Sand with her siblings. She returned as an ally of Konoha wearing a funky new purple costume and an even shorter miniskirt during the Sasuke chase and helped Shikamaru fight the sound nin.
