Love
i keep on asking
that overused phrase "why?"
for i keep on dreaming
of that love that has long ago died.
in the darkest parts of night
i cry silently
in the silver shadow of the moonlight
of the love that can never be
in the light of day
i day dream,
and think of phrases i would say
if love was as true as it seems.
when the perfect moment happens
i'll whisper that never said "I love you"
after finally throwing away those memories of has beens
if love is really true.
maybe one day i'll tell you my feelings
i'll show you my sadness, regret, confusion.
i'll release this burden i've had in my heart for a year
only if i know this love's not an illusion
