About

I like a variety of music but most enjoy listening to Classical Music, Pop, and Techno (particularly if it's a mix of Techno and Classical Music). I'm a big fantasy addict playing not only games like Everquest and Warcraft but also doing live action role playing in a medieval boffer weapon system. (Don't understand what I mean? Feel free to ask me) I greatly enjoy being outside in the woods.

Wolves are my favorite animal. I wish I could own a wolf hybrid but I've read enough about wolves to realize this isn't really a good idea and would rather let wolves be free in the wild. I find cities creepy (too many people in one place make me nervous) and am otherwise a relatively normal and boring person. I like it that way, I wouldn't want to stand out or be overly noticable. You can just get so much more done when you don't have a bunch of people constantly watching you.

I'm an avid reader of almost any fantasy story (Narnia, Wheel of Time, Elfquest) or even modern fantasy settings like Harry Potter. I'm also working on learning Japanese. I learned Latin, some Ancient Greek, and some Scotts Gaelic in the past. I figured it was about time to learn a living language and since I'd only ever really looked at occidental languages before this I wanted to check out the syntax of an oriental language for once. smile

I'm probably older than you. I'm in my mid 30s now which I'm certain makes me older than the vast majority of people here. I'm certainly not the oldest but still no where near the low end of the spectrum any more. So I'd just like to remind you it's always good to respect your elders. wink

My biggest pet peave with Gaia Online are the sheer number of hoax emails that get passed around. Anything someone sends you stating "send this to everyone you know" or anything similar will almost always (a little over 99.9% of the time) be a hoax email. Unfortunately the way Gaia works people get rewarded for further promoting such pointless spam as they're given gold. There's no easy or good way to prevent this it's just an unfortunate fact of life. You can do your party by not forwarding spam and hoaxes on Gaia and deleting any you recevie. Personally I'd be much happier receiving spam mails saying something as simple as "have a nice day" as opposed to getting yet another "This person is trying to hack accounts" or "This person is sending out viruses". It's pointless to send them out, the Gaia Admin would deal with any real infractions once reported, and you only appear gullible when you forward the mails as if you believe them.

Finally I just wanted to remind everyone to be conscious of security online. Never give out your password. The only people who might need it (Gaia staff) already have access to your information through other means if there's real need so even they don't need your password. More importantly never every under any circumstances give out personal information like where you live or your real full name to strangers. People you've met and chatted with online are still actually strangers no matter how friendly they seem. You never know who's on the other end of a computer and there are far too many predators (bad people) out there. Why take chances? Chatting is all well and good but until you really know what's safe to tell and what's not please keep safe by not telling them who you really are, how to find your, or offering to meet up with them.
