"Please don't dawdle, Alice; we're very late, indeed."
"I wonder, why'd she disappear?"
"Maybe she just lost her interest...lost hope for this world."
...Except not as emo-tastic as this line from .hack//G.U.
I really just have lost interest in Gaia. Whether or not this inactivity is permanent is really up to my own attitude. I might some back to roleplay, check up on new monthly collectibles, or check up on my long-since dead guild. But until that point, Gaia remains just a nostalgic reminder of the sassy, quick-witted character I assumed to build my confidence during my transition from middle school into high school; The Slate Scholar was truly my idealized self.
However, I have truly become "The Slate Scholar" in reality, which really negated the necessity for maintaining this avatar. As I became stronger and more confident in my own abilities within the "real world," my avatar lost the footing it had established for me in cyberspace, especially in the Avatar Arena. I don't have to use it for a crutch anymore to reaffirm and model my personality.
I AM The Slate Scholar.
Of course I'll still check up on everything here every once in a while, but don't fret if you don't hear from me for a few weeks.
Also, despite my avatar's appearance, I am, in fact, a man.

No worries. We all have to answer Life's calling eventually....besides, its not like the guild went anywhere...
Thank you.
