Jeremiah 29:13; 2 Chronicles 15:2; Isaiah 55:6; Matthew 7:7-8; Hebrews 11:6; Psalms 34:5; Isaiah 65:1. 7 verses that all say essentially this: if you look for God, you will find him. Seek the Lord and you will know him to be real. But what of those who claim that their science and their reason tell them there is no God?
I want to be a missionary when I grow up. Not to Africa, not to Asia, not to India, no; I want to be a missionary to the intellectual who believes that they have no need to worship a real and living and loving God. I want to show them, by the very reason and science with which they attempt to excise themselves from God, that He is real and that He is reaching out to them! I want to open the eyes of those who believe their eyes are already open. God has blessed me with a talent for rhetoric and reason, for science and philosophy, and now I see the place wherein God has created a ministry for one such as me.
So let this be my covenant, my creed, my commitment, or whatever you want to call it: I am a man of reason, of science, of objective truth and reality, and I find that all these things must point to a real and loving God! And since they do point to such a God, I can be assured that it was he who sent his Son to die as a sacrifice for our sins, so that all we must do to be redeemed is to trust in Christ to wash us of our sins and fill us with the Holy Spirit who will encourage and direct us into a brand new life of righteous living! If you want to know what lets me believe these things as a rational, grounded man, ask away.
