My name is Kaylee.
I live in what ABC has lovingly dubbed, "The City of Misery."
I hate to make the stereotypical, "Music is my life," comment, but it kind of is. Music lifts me up and brings me down and takes me anyplace in between. It's just always been around. I was raised with it. Nirvana, The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Smashing Pumpkins, hell, I can even remember Marilyn Manson and KoRn, not to mention all of the one-hit wonders of the 90's. My first concert was in '96, Jewel, back when she was cool. I was three, if you care to know.
I'd like to consider myself something of an artist, though I often feel conceited when I actually say it. I write, I play violin, and I take pictures. I like to sing and act as well.
I don't have the slightest idea of where I'll be in ten years. Quite frankly, the future freaks me out. But my latest pipe dream is to become a journalist, photographer, and roadie. It may sound crazy, but I want to write a column from the road {Hopefully for Alternative Press}. I'd also like to be a novelist at some point. I want to be somebody. But above all I want to affect people. I want to contribute to something bigger than my own existence, and leave a legacy of some sort that will keep people talking for years.
I'm a complete and total nerd and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm pale, I'm ditzy, I play Tetris on sunny days, and I've got no clue why people allow eyelash curlers anywhere near their eyes. But I'm myself, and that's what counts {At least in my mind.}
I can't stand to be ignored.
I'm not a pessimist. I'm a cynical realist.
So if you're into those whiny, suffer-for-your-art types, drop me a line.
