Hey everyone. My name is Amar, and I live in British Columbia, Canada. It's been a very long time since I've truly considered myself an active Gaian, but upon recent discovery of my old account #Thyme to Shine, I decided to revive it, just for fun. cat_biggrin
Anyways, if it matters to anyone at all, I am a music teacher of 4 years at a local downtown music school, and quite honestly, I love my job! I deal with children and adult students 6 days a week. Never have I had such an amazing experience mentoring and sparking their artistic abilities!
In my downtime, I like playing videogames - namely Skyrim (my absolute fave!!heart) - , going to the gym, and financial planning. Im going to school taking parttime courses myself, and currently just bought a townhouse! So ya could say that I'm all over the place! sweatdrop
To be fair, I am interested in mostly connecting with other Gaians from Canada, But even if you're not from around here, I still enjoy the company! So if you happen to stumble across my page, you're welcomed to hit me up with a comment if you will. I hope you all are having a great Gaian day, peace out smile
I agree. I somewhat understand the political aspects, but I could just never understand why violent people do what they do regardless of the circumstances.
I was in a bit of a scary situation yesterday on the road. There was a 4 car pileup that happened right behind us and we served as witnesses. We were very lucky that we decided to speed up or it could have been bad for us too. Some people were really hurt from what I could tell. The driver at fault was a cab driver...no surprise there.
Yeah, one thing that might keep me from visiting Egypt is the direction it seems to be heading along with much of the rest of the Middle East. I keep up with the events that happen there on a daily basis but something about it seems especially "off" to me. Especially what the US Government seems to be doing. Some of the conspiracy theorists might just be right in saying that the US Gov is openly funding/arming terrorist extremist groups so they can destabilize the Middle East, install bankster owned central banks, and further the New World Order agenda. Or something like that.
It looks like we're going to have some better weather coming. That bright orb in the sky is supposed to make a return for a while.
That sounds interesting. I'd like to be able to explore the towns that are less touristy and more overlooked. They often happen to have a certain charm to them that many people aren't able to notice. I forgot to mention Egypt though, I really want to check out the pyramids. It fascinates me thinking about what their purpose might have been, how they were built, why there are so many around the world. I personally think the ancient Egyptians and others had some incredible technology that we don't really know about today. I think I want to visit there first.
I've already seen most of the states and a sizable portion of Canada, so I'm mainly fixed on various European countries, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. No idea where to visit first.
Bellingham is a nice town and it's always improving for the better. There's a nice and big new movie theater that's worth checking out. The cross-border shoppers have been giving the town a nice boost too. One thing is for sure, almost everything on this side of the border is quite a bit cheaper here than in BC. College tuition and healthcare costs are a different story all together though. lol. I think it evens out in the end.
Yeah, it is quite an accomplishment, the getting married/family thing isn't anywhere on the horizon for me, but maybe someday. I think traveling the world is next on my checklist though.
My mom lives in Bellingham so that's a great place to use as a base to visit BC for a day. I want to try the new Bolt Bus sometime.
My price range is close to the same as yours. The market is rather weird right now though, there's only a small fraction of places on the market compared to only a year ago down here.
I have to say, congrats on the townhome. I'm planning to buy a condo soon myself in the Seattle area and you could say I'm pretty excited. I just can't imagine what home prices are like up there in BC right now compared to here. eek
