Goodnight, Taylor. Well, for me it is, anyway. It's pretty late here, and there just so happens to be a special girl who wants me to get up early in the hopes that we can talk before she goes camping. Later!
If you have heard anything? Thank Him. Many people, they can hear the same words, and they cannot grasp them (they may understand a theology, but they do not understand the truth: they see it only as a theology and they don't understand it's reality). The Bible says they literally cannot hear Him, because they are deaf.
When I really accepted Jesus? That's what happened to me. See, my whole life I was raised Christian, but I was a cultural Christian, the kind that God will chew up and spew out of His mouth. I started looking at the Bible, to learn more, once He saved me. If you're curious about some stuff Jesus taught, and things in the Bible? I'd suggest reading my "Verses" section here, in my profile. If you wanna start reading the Bible for yourself? I'd suggest starting at John. If you have any questions you'd like to ask me, I'll try to answer them as best I can for you.
Haha. Not at all. Look at it this way: if you believe someone? If you believe what that person says? Wouldn't you do it? Jesus, He teaches us how to live life, He teaches us right from wrong. If He tells us that, by doing the wrong things, we will go to Hell, and we continue to do those things even though we say we believe what He says, then does that mean we really believe Him? This is what I mean, by many churches not teaching what Jesus taught. Many say "Just believe and claim Jesus, and you're saved". Jesus, man... He tells us there is much more to it... and that many people will claim to believe in Him, but they don't listen to Him or love Him. If you love someone, wouldn't you want to listen to them? Many people say Jesus is Lord, but if He is really your Lord, shouldn't you obey what He tells you, His servant, to do? How is He your Lord if you blatantly disobey, right?
I'm surprised. That verse is probably the most popular verse out there. That verse, it certainly is true. However, many people, they take it out of context, and they don't understand it. What does it mean, exactly, to believe in Jesus? I wonder, have you ever seen this one:
Matthew 7:
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Pffffft. I don't go to church. A lot of churches do not teach what Jesus teaches. It's true that life is eternal, certainly. However, what if I told you eternity is conditional? Have you ever seen this verse:
John 3:
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I'm just trying to get a grasp on what you have heard. Many people preach many things, claiming Christ, and they aren't preaching what he actually said. What have you heard about salvation, and how men are saved, for example?
