Why, hello there~

Hello there!

Good lord...it's been years since I've been on here. Probably, 7 or 8 years at least. Anyway, Hi everyone! My name is Toi, but feel free to call me Tomatogal. I'm 24 years old, but I refuse to act it. I'm still very much a fan of things plush, cartoon, or rainbow. I really don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a fan of anime and manga. My favorite anime is Steins;Gate, and my favorite manga is Black Jack. The author of Black Jack, Osamu Tezuka, is my favorite artist. He is a major inspiration to me. I'm amazed by what he achieved in his lifetime, and by the messages he incorporated in his works. Other anime favorites include Puella Magi Madoka Magica, FLCL, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Death Parade.

Random Things About Me

I consider myself to be a jack of all trades. I draw, do photography, sew, craft, paper mache, collect and pin insects, etc.. My two biggest loves are art and photography. I've been drawing since I was young, and I still do to this day. I use traditional mediums, preferably Prismacolor colored pencils, Sakura Micron ink pens, and watercolors. I'd love to learn how to do digital art, but I never got the knack of it. I've also been big into photography for the past couple of years. I'd say that I specialize in macro photography, specifically of insects. I've shot a variety of different subject types, but insects are still my favorite. You'd be amazed by what you'd see looking through a macro lens. The simplest things that you'd walk by everyday can look so beautiful when you notice all of the details.

I also have a strong interest in entomology. It's what really drove me to invest into my photography. I like to study, and log any insects I see in my area. I've even created my own insect collection...consisting of insects friends, family, and I have found already dead since I really don't like killing anything. I quite literally would not hurt a fly. If it were ever possible, I would be very interested in perusing entomology as a career.

I like really J-Rock and J-Pop. My favorite band is the pillows. biggrin I also like Bump of Chicken, Janne Da Arc, Bradio, Kalafina, and Kanako Itou.

I also have an awesome 11 year old hermit crab named Pinchy. I first got him when I was 13 and he's still by my side (...in a tank)! He's grown from being golf ball sized, to a very impressive softball size. He looks menacing, but I think he's a gentle giant. heart
