About
"I don't need a music scene to tell me who I am."
I'm Russell Eugene Jewell II Esq.
I fully beleive in respect and kindness,
and I'm generally very nice,
unless I haven't eaten...
I don't think you should have to listen to techno to beleive in Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.
I don't think you should have to listen to punk to want to rebel and be yourself.
I don't think you should have to listen to ska to want to have fun and make light of EVERYTHING.
I don't think you should have to listen to emo to put your heart and feelings into everything you do.
I don't think you should have to listen to Indie or acoustic to keep it real, and go out and do something for yourself.
I don't think you should have to listen to religious music to have morals, concious, and heart.
I don't think you should have to listen to Edge music to stick up for your beleifs, not be afraid what others think, and not be totally consumed by addictive tendancies.
I used to believe I wouldn't get along with people who didn't like the same music as me, but that was no better than the people I was trying to be different from, and I realized I'm missing out on a lot of good people.
I often heard my friends say "oh man those(that) slip-ons/skinny jeans/brass knuckle tats/straightened hair/whatever looks sweet nice job."
Only now do I translate it to "man that thing that everyone else has looks cool on you, nice job"
I can't comprehend why you would want to wear/do things that others already have.
But most of all, I feel you should always, always, be a good person.
