User ImageSeveral years ago, a stray child was found within the castle grounds. Glacier-like eyes stared from underneath tangles of hair as the guards seized him by the arms. Nobody knew his name, or where he'd come from. Fresh, vicious bruises covered his entire body, though despite his situation, he did not put up a fight. After much controversy over the boy possibly being a rebel spy, he was imprisoned and questioned.

For days, he remained a silent enigma. Many believed him to be mute until he was dragged into the presence of the King. When asked how he evaded the attention of the guards, the child looked the monarch directly in the eye. Unflinchingly, he replied. "I want to serve", much to the King's wicked amusement. From that day onward, Trevathen began his squirehood, and his transformation into a royal attack dog.

He ascended through the ranks of apprenticeship with startling ease, starting his career as the only swordless knight in the royal court. The tribal tattoos etched into his skin, and his aloof attitude set him apart from the other young soldiers. Even with his quietly intense demeanor, the Queen grew particularly fond of him.

Trevathen's only goal was to succeed, and his desire to command grew as he aged. Everything changed when princess Luvella was born. Barely in his adolescence, he held the baby girl with a light scowl on his face. In those hours, one look from the King told Trevathen his life's purpose. "Forever protect the child you hold in your arms." The command was concise as it left the man's mouth; a chilling echo against the castle walls. "A life for a life." Without the King's mercy, the wandering boy would have never survived past childhood. The weight of his responsibility increased as more children were born into the royal family.

Trevathen grew into an incredibly fearsome knight, but settled for the position of bodyguard rather than foot-soldier or commander. The warlock will always thirst for the rush of being in the frontlines of the battlefield, but takes immediate priority over the royal bloodline's well-being. To some extent, he begrudgingly regards them as family. His life before being arrested in the courtyard are mostly blocked-out from memory.

His first experience of loss was when the youngest princess was assassinated. A trail of her blood shone along the temple floor, and her cold hands were still kneaded in prayer. Trevathen's hatred for the rebels was instilled in him as he presented the child's body to his King. The Queen's aching sobs will be something he'll never forget. At his worst, Trevathen is cruelty personified, although you'd never know it without first giving him a good reason to shred your innards apart. His facial expression rarely differs from it's neutral, all-encompassing glare. He keeps a stoic demeanor with good reason.

If he so much as bats an eyelash, something within the vicinity is at risk to shatter into a thousand pieces. Not from any sort of physical force, but rather, from his vast reservoir of internal magical energy. His entire personality is centered around controlling it. Trevathen's abilities are sharpened on the rebels through executions and interrogations, and he is merciless to anyone who opposes the King.

Unsurprisingly, Trevathen is capable of being fiercely protective of ideals or individuals whom he deems to be of value. He will fight tooth-to-nail to ensure their safety, rational thoughts be damned. The knight remains loyal to the point of moral blindness, and is willingly ignorant of the suffering in the kingdom. In addition, Trevathen is stubborn. He oftentimes refuses to acknowledge the truth, even when it stares him in the face.

Strengths: Emotional stability is the key to a vital source of power which has been coursing through Trevathen's veins since he swallowed his first breath. Through years of discipline, he's trained himself to channel it efficiently and effectively, usually leaving devastating results in his wake. All the results of his lost temper are swathed in destruction. Apart from this intangible strength, Trevathen is shockingly quick on his feet. He is strictly goal-oriented, rarely hesitating in the presence of challenge even when all inklings of hope are lost. When everyone else has fallen, Trevathen will be fighting until the bitter end.

Weaknesses: Trevathen's ability to leash his temperament directly affects the ferocity of his powers. Therefore, evoking any vehement emotions causes him to spiral out of control quite easily. Depending on the situation, this course of action either renders him entirely useless or results in creating a wave of obliteration. It's a dangerous gamble. Regardless, he possesses the physical strength of an average human, giving him a disadvantage in hand-to-hand combat. He's incredibly blunt and rude when it comes to social affairs, and doesn't seem to have the ability of communicating with others on a civil basis. This, unlike his other weak-points, has some hope to be remedied.
