Gifting and greed can be explained exactly the same way; Bill Cosby is a GENIUS - in "Bill Cosby: Himself" he has a segment where he mentions asking someone what is so great about a certain white powdered drug that was falling like snow in 1980 and the reply in his routine from the user of the drug is:"Welllll, it intensifies your personality."
To which Cosby retorts:
"Yes, but what if you're an a*****e?"
I've managed to encounter a great many assholes on Gaia whose only drive is the BBD - the Bigger, Better Deal, and there's always another one around the corner (or the Exchange or the Marketplace or La Victoire or Club Verge) and they just ruin all the fun I have playing Gaia with my kids, loved ones and friends. Just because they can pay more for something doesn't mean they *deserve* it more.
In the time I've been on Gaia I've given away enough in gold and items to have gotten myself an Angelic Halo several times over, and to hoard some of the '03 items, but I chose to not do it because I'd rather do nice things for other people and brighten people's days. It's just who I am, both on Gaia and in real life, and I enjoy being able to share what I have with friends and strangers alike. It's my nature emotion_bigheart
I'm a Southern woman so I call *everyone* hon, sugar, sweetie and darlin', so don't take it personally or get offended. It's a Southern thang, y'all. I do it in RL, I'm not going to NOT do it here, I type the way I talk, I'm not going to be someone I'm not - that's not in my nature. With me, what you (can't) see is still what you get, I'm about as authentic as they come, I'm a real Mom with real kids, I actually care about people and what happens to them and I will go out of my way to be nice until it's time to NOT be nice. (If you haven't seen "Roadhouse" I highly recommend it just for that scene. If you have seen it that may be the best scene in the whole dang movie because it speaks VOLUMES!)
By the way, if you piss on my friends you piss off their MAMA-SAMA, and that's never a wise thing, so just don't do it. And my friends aren't all on my friend list, they don't NEED to be. They know who they are!
