The story of PretoriaPretoria is a faerie I invented for the stories I write. I had no idea that she would end up being in every one of my works then I made her, and I modeled my avi on her. So here's her story(as taken from "Shiro Knight", the more accurate story):
Many thousands of years ago, a meteor fell onto the planet. It left no destruction, it seemed to have been covered by a veil of magic. It landed on an arid continent, no life could survive on this island, for all the continent was covered in dry sand. The meteor caused the impossible to happen on the continent: it invited life. Where the meteor fell, an oasis rests now, surrounded by thick forest. Humans came to live there centuries later. Eventually, the people discovered that there was sentient life in the meteor: put simply, the Faerie race. The Faeries were not very friendly, however, and when the humans discovered their existence, they abandoned their home to live in the oceans. Two Faeries remained: A female and male. They were in love with each other and their home, so they refused to leave. They began to live with the humans, producing a daughter during this lull of peace which lasted twenty years.
One day, a group of bandits attempted to kill the townspeople and take the Faeries as if they were jewels. To protect their town, the two Faeries fight the bandits. The male is killed in the attack and the female is critically injured. To protect their only child, the female takes her twenty year old daughter and seals her inside a sakura tree which now grows over the oasis. Upon both Faeries death, the bandits were frightened away. Shortly after, the sakura tree bloomed out of season, revealing unnatural dark blue petals.
Eighty years later, the small town is now a city built into the trees. A shrine is right next to the blue sakura tree to protect it and share the history of the Faeries that lived there before.
But then disaster strikes when another band of bandits attack the city suddenly. The towns' sentry were unable to hold back the attack. At that time, the energy that built from the battle concentrated on the shrine, where the priests were attempting to rescue the Faerie by releasing her from her seal. Upon her release, the entire city crumbled to the ground in blue flames.
Once she realized what had happened, she decides to seal her fate in the sky, where she spends the rest of her life observing the activities of human life, including their wars and lulls of peace.
