oh yea, I didn't mean that you said He wasn't the Son of God, I was just saying that if you really believe in Him then you'd have to believe that. Why don't you read the Bible? You might find it interesting, and maybe it will answer your questions. Just saying 3nodding

I gotcha. Well, I get all my facts from the Bible and preachers I have heard. And.....well people categorize Christianity as a religion, but it's not. It's a way of life. There's no other "religion" in the world like Christianity. As for the whole Christmas thing...yea, I don't think that was the day He was born either, but that is the day that has been set for a very long time as the day to celebrate His birth, since we don't know exactly when it was. Also, I find it hard to believe that you really do believe in Jesus and don't worship Him, because if you really believed in Him then you would also believe that He is the Son of God, then you would also believe in all that He teaches and what the Bible says, then you would believe that He is the only true way of salvation and to Heaven. So if you can believe all that and not feel compelled to worship Him, then.....yea, that kind of confuses me.

I never said Jesus WAS actually born in December. I just said that that's what some scholars believe. Scholars who have spent years of research. And you said that it never says in the Bible when He was born, yet you said it was in the summer months. So how do you know that? Also, it's true that Christmas was actually a pagan holiday started by the Romans, but they never told the Christians to adopt it or whatever you said. The Christians didn't adopt the holiday until the 4th century CE, and until then it wasnt even called that, it was called Saturnalia. They picked the last day of the holiday, December 25th, to be Jesus's birthday. That's why some scholars think that that is the month He was born in. I personally don't care when He was born, just as long as He was born. And since you seem to know your facts so well, I don't know why you are trying to debate me about this anyways, unless you're just trying to see if I know my stuff or something. Like I said before, I don't claim to be some expert. I just say what I know and what I've been taught. I've been a Christian for 12 years and I am still learning and growing everyday. And since you claim to believe in Jesus, I don't know why your comments have to be so sarcastic. I was just pleasently trying to answer your question the best way I knew how, since you are the one who asked me.

Jesus was born way back in Biblical times, when Rome still had control of Judea, Israel, etc. Although I am not sure of His exact date of birth, scholars who have made studies and researched His life and the timeline have pinpointed that He was born around the month we now call December. The 25th was picked as the day to celebrate His birth. We don't know if that is the actual date, or if He was even born in that month, but what is important is that we do have a special date set aside to celebrate the day He came to earth to be born to save us from our sins. I do not claim to be an expert on Him, a theologian, or whatever. But I do have faith in Him. Hope this helped to answer your question.
