Although, the information provided will be very limited for safety measures. I am the detective L. Alternatively, I go by Erald Coil or Deneuve. However, I ask that you call me Hideki Ryuga. Ryuuzaki is fine as well. I do not mind either/or. I also postulate that you do not reveal my true identity to anyone else and to address me by these aliases only.

I'm currently investigating the Kira case. The case itself started off strangely with a vast amount of victims dying from heart attacks. Of course, heart attacks are very natural, but not in the manner these deaths were presented. What was particularly unique was that the victims were criminals. It's almost as if someone with "god like" powers were controlling these unforeseen deaths, mocking the world with their superiority complex. Evidently, the killer was called Kira.

Kira must be very immature to think that he can change the world by simply killing people. He is no God. He does not have the right to judge the sins of others, no matter how dirty they may be. What Kira is...is simply a murderer.



Narrowing down the information, I found that Kira did indeed reside in Japan. I suppose his childish need to win was his flaw in this situation, as he was easily discovered. Not to say I am not childish myself. Eventually, my suspicions lead me to believe that a seemingly normal student was Kira. This student would be...Light Yagami, son of chief Soichiro Yagami, who is helping on our investigation team. Although there is only a seven percent chance of Light being Kira, I'm almost certain it must be him. It has to be him.

I consider Light a friend yet a formidable opponent. It is a shame he might be Kira, otherwise I think we could be closer. In the end, I suppose we will have to see who wins this war. Ah, and along the way...we obtained a second Kira in the case. However, this Kira was immensely stupid compared to the first. All sources pointed to Misa Amane being the likely suspect. She had also been aiding the first Kira. Enough evidence was complied to prove this fact, but it seems after we kept her imprisoned for so long her actions took a different turn entirely. Very peculiar...

Yagami-kun and Amane-san...are they just really good actors and are in fact the first and second Kira? Or, are they really innocent and I am over thinking the situation? This is the first time I have ever doubted my calculations. I have never been wrong. I am not one to go entirely by gut feeling, but I feel that they must be the wrong doers. My life was put on the line the moment I decided to take on this case. However, if it means defeating Kira then I am willing to die to do so. I have successors to carry on my name. Regardless...

I will solve this case no matter what it takes. No matter what happens....I have no doubt in my mind that...
