Wicker was born and raised in West of Makai, on one the fringe of islands that glitter the coast. The Island in particular was called Chuluchian. The West of Makai is very different from the East, seeing as, culturally, it is less common for a demon to encounter a human and therefore less common for a demon from the west to eat a human; this subsequently leads to shorter life spans. As well they speak a language different from the East, which most just refer to as 'Westy' talk.Wicker is the son of the most powerful Illusionist Demon to ever leave a mark on the world of Freelance Spies, and like his father Wicker exhibits signs of being very powerful in the art of illusion himself (though still far from his father's level). He would come off as a more threatening demon if not for his childish demeanor and puppy-dog enthusiasm for everything.
During the first Dark Tournament that Team Urameshi had participated in Wicker had been a spectator, going with his father to see the fights. Wicker had been exceptionally impressed with Kazuma Kuwabara, a human fighting and holding his own against a mass of demons. Previously he'd thought a creature as frail as a human would never survive it like Kuwabara had done, and swiftly Kuwabara became the little underdog's hero; for surviving the gore of the tournament. Wicker and his father had a certain degree of pride in the fact that they hadn't been among the audience fatalities. But, no one lives forever and a while after the tournament Wicker's father passed away. (His mother had died many years earlier.) However, because of his sexual affiliation those in charge of governing inheritance sought to collect his father's gains for themselves. But injustice can't be blind and the demons in charge informed him that if he could assemble a team, and win the Dark Tournament, that he would receive his inheritance. Unfortunately, Team Urameshi beat them in their first round.
He lost his land, his inheritance and his father's ship. But, they'd made it through the tournament with their lives. After it Kuwabara (who'd gotten attached to his biggest little fan) offered Wicker a chance to come to human world and live with Shizuru and himself. Wicker jumped on it, under the guise of being Kuwabara's foreign cousin, coming to stay in Japan. He now lives contently in human world.
