Omigosh I know... Spy is amazing! But he takes soooo much practice to use D:
At first you're lucky to get a single backstab in before you get killed, but if you practice really hard, I've seen people get records up to 20-30+ in one life. Scares me... my best has been 5 backstabs XD

Yeah... FPSs take awhile to get used to, just like how baseball coaches tell you not to be afraid of the ball? Don't be afraid of the 900 pound psychopath with a minigun running at you like a steamroller! :3
Most servers are pretty friendly, and understand when people are just starting out. Don't try Spy or anything complex on your first go like I did though... baaaad move on my part =x
Yeah. Once you have paid for it, you have full access to the game and all future updates too. It's run through the program Steam though, so once a key is used, it can never again be used. Can't get this one from a friend or something .-.
The 3-day pass that comes with it will let you download it and have full access for awhile though.
MMO...? Uhm.... noooot really.... It's a first person shooter, you get split onto teams, red and blue, and pick to be one of the nine classes (Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Engineer, Demoman, Heavy Weapons Guy, Medic, Sniper, or Spy), and attempt to best the other team in whatever game that is selected for the server you're on. So far I've seen Capture the Flag, Capture the Point (Stand on a designated "point" to capture it), Arena (Kill everyone, no respawning), and something called "Payload", which involves moving a cart along a rail.... kinda weird.
It's absurdly fun though. I've discovered I have a penchant for being a pyro, a sniper, and a spy.
If you wanna see a bit of the stuff from it... granted these are Valve-released videos, so they aren't actual ingame views... Meet the Team!
They're short clips introducing the characters and thier functions. The only two unreleased ones are Pyro and Medic. They're really amusing, I recommend seeing at least meet the spy, and meet the sniper. XD
Those videos taught me that the whole team is... how did I put it at first... "Bat s**t Crazy". :3
Well, I could give you the 3-day trial I got from buying it, if you really wanted to try =o
If you did what I did and purchase the game from retaill, chances are you'd have to get "the orange box", since most places don't have TF2 alone anymore. It's like, 35$, based on what I paid today. Comes with TF2, Portal, and a bunch of Half Life episodes.
On the other hand, could buy TF2 directly from Steam (Program it's run through) for.... 19.99 I think? Dunno. It's a one time payment I know though XD
