My story began on my sixth birthday. My father Liam Diethel, sent me out on a scavenger hunt to find my birthday present. This of course was ment to challenge and test my dowsing skills, that I had spent the past year learning from my father.
Gradually I did find my present at the top of Big Ben. It was Morphin, my fathers spirit ally who had served him and our family for many generations. She was locked in a golden cage. It turned out my very dowsing crystal was the key to open the lock.
I was so excited, I rushed back home....only to discover it was set ablaze. Without thinking I rushed inside, looking for my mother and father, only to find the one responsible for my life's greatest tragedy...Hao. It would be years later that I discover his name, after searching the world for him. He spared me that day, and lit the tourch that later fueled my need for revenge...
Almost seven years later..I became apart of a group of friends from Japan. I regretfully tricked them into fighting me, testing to see if they would make for strong enough allies...and they almost failed that test, had it not been for Asakura Yoh. He defeated me at my best, and despite how I treated his friends he let me join them. Those were some of the happiest times of my life, but in the back of my mind I wondered if they would be able to defeat Hao and his followers one day.
It wasn't until our encounter with one of Hao's followers, Boris, that I believed Yoh and his friends would not be able to fight Hao. No, not them, but the ones that destroyed Boris with righteous power, the X-Laws. I soon left Yoh and my former companions, taking only Morphin with me to join X-Laws.
The X-Laws had become a second family to me, and Jeanne-sama was like a mother and sister to me...and Marco was like my father. Their views were narrow, black and white with no grey areas. Either you were with X-Laws or with Hao. I had come to believe in this the longer I stayed with X-Laws...however I wanted to show mercy to my former comrade and asked Jeanne to spare them. It soon became pointless, as the Gate of Bablyon was open and swallowed all, even Hao himself....but somehow he broke free and took everyone out with him. Hao then took something precious from Jeanne-sama....Shamash, her spirit ally. Even with Jeanne beaten and the Gate of Bablyon destroyed X-Laws then went on a suicide mission to stop Hao....it was at this point I realized I made the wrong decision...I should had remained with Yoh. I watched as each member of X-Laws fell to Hao, and felt completly powerless to stop him.
Hope came to me though, along with Morphin transforming into a new angel called Zeruel. With my new and old ally beside me, and Yoh and his friends accepting me as one of them again, I fought to defeat Hao, and stop him from becomming Shaman King...
