no woodwinds is not that hard actually...

necassary for woodwind: posture, breath control, finger technique, shifting?

necassary for violin: posture, finger control, bow control, keeping your shoulders inplace while moving your wrist and elbow, bow positioning, extra reading in the score (down bow, up bow) verbrado (excuse misspellings...), shifting, the placing of your fingers have to be EXACT or else everything will be totally messed up!

wood winds you just place your fingers on the buttons to make the sound, probably the worst that can happen is if you run out of breath... the worst that can happen on violin is that you are playing with someone else the same thing and you are slightly out of tune but easy to notice, or if you're in an orchestra and your bowing goes the wrong way. also keeping the bow parelle to the bridge ALWAYS is necessary too it affects the whole sound if not positioned correctly!

cello and base... i dont know about those instruments actually... but i'm sure that when you play base you do not use some fingers because you have to position your fingers far apart on the finger board. but if you use the index and your ring finger then it is best to also place the middle finger down so it takes the stress of reaching so far!
