Quick notes:
I've been on Gaia since near the beginning. I tend to come and go so I'm typically slow at responding to things, but I always do try to respond. I'm open and friendly, but don't beg me for stuff or even ask me to give you things. It's just rude.
Personally, I don't understand this whole, "Can I friend you?" Thing... You add them to your list then you never talk to them again. What? Is it a contest? Who can have the most friends? Or do you just like having 'impressive' looking people on your friends list? If you're going to friend me... Do it because you honestly want to be my friend or want to talk to me.
